Instead of panicking about my to-do list, we’re re-centering on a different kind of list today. Amid the chaos of a Monday, things that make us happy. I might add the sunshine on my face, my mother’s laughter, taking notes, my husband’s reasonable nature and my father’s wisdom too. What’s on your list?

  1. Gratitude lists are the best kind of lists. The lists in this post made me smile. On my list today: last cinnamon roll, phone call with mom and sis, seeing my student faces during Google Meet, poke bowl, trying out a recipe that Aggie shared, warm socks.

  2. Love graditude lists! That reminds me, I should do one because I have not lately.

  3. I love how lists can make us feel in control, thankful and ready to take on anything. I even make lists of my lists. I love how you included your whole family – my 19 and 21 year olds both make lists on their own now.

  4. My favorite might be pie, but I need Ezzy to talk more about it. And yes, to many things on your list. Really good coffee, folded laundry, exploring new cities! I could go on.

  5. How sweet, the side by side lists. I imagined you writing and Ezzy asking to join.

  6. Ezzy reading her list aloud was pure bliss. The things that make you happy coupled with your daughter’s precious handwriting warmed my heart. I’d add boxed wine 🍷 and the scent of Downy to my list. Loved today’s simple, yet powerful post.

  7. Ezzy had me at oobleck. And now I am wishing for an excuse to make some in my kitchen with nary a child in sight…I will have to settle for my own nightly gratitude journaling, instead.

  8. I’m touched by both of your lists. Hearing your voices feels like a bonus treat. I miss having an occasion to create a good batch of oobleck!

  9. Being on Ezzy’s list is a greater satisfaction than most any other achievement currently floating through this head.
